(Everything is going to fall into place exactly as it should, exactly when it should. No more worrying.)
Here’s the thing: life rarely moves at the pace we want it to. Some moments feel like they drag on forever, while others pass in the blink of an eye. For so long, I’ve struggled with trying to rush the process, forcing things to happen on my timeline. But 2025 feels different—it feels calm, steady, and full of quiet confidence.
This year, I’m embracing a new mindset: confident patience. It’s about trusting that everything will fall into place exactly as it should, exactly when it should. It’s about silencing the endless “what ifs” in my head and choosing to believe in the magic of timing. If you’ve been carrying the weight of constant worry, this is your sign to let it go. Let’s move forward into 2025 with open hearts and a little more faith that the universe knows what it’s doing.
Let’s Talk About Confident Patience
Confident patience isn’t about sitting back and waiting for life to happen to you. It’s about showing up for yourself every day while trusting that the pieces you’re putting in place will form a picture—just not overnight. It’s this beautiful balance of effort and surrender: you take the steps you can control and trust that the rest will unfold in its own time.
It’s a hard mindset to embrace, especially if you’re a worrier or someone who thrives on checking boxes. I get it—I’m learning too. But confident patience is about freedom. It’s about releasing the tight grip of control and choosing faith over fear.
Why Timing is Everything
Have you ever looked back on something in your life and thought, “Wow, I’m so glad that didn’t happen earlier”? Maybe it was a job opportunity you weren’t quite ready for or a relationship that came into your life at the perfect time, or even some kind of trauma.
There’s a reason things happen when they do. Life has a funny way of aligning us with what we need—not always what we want—at just the right moment. When you learn to trust this process, you’ll find yourself less stressed, less rushed, and more at peace.
How to Cultivate Confident Patience
As always, learning to lean towards this kind of practice comes from a mindset shift. It won’t be easy, but it’s a work in progress.
Practice gratitude for the present moment – what’s happening in your life right now? What are you grateful for today? Too often we chase the next good thing in our life, whether that’s waiting for the weekend, for your next night out, for your next lie-in. Focusing on what matters right now, and who matters to you right now, is what’s going to help you stay in the present and allow timing to find your way.
Another big thing is to remember what’s in your control, and what’s not. The only thing in the entire world, throughout your entire life, that you can control, is how you act. Your actions, your words, and your reactions are all in your control. What other people do or say is beyond your grasp – but that’s ok. You can’t control what other people think, and you also can’t predict what they are going to do. Learn to, again, sit in the present moment, and hold onto what you can control, and you’ll see your confidence radiating.
Letting Go of Worry
On the note of what’s in your control, worrying about something in the past and present isn’t going to do you any good. What’s happening today? Forget about what’s happening tomorrow, what happened yesterday, and what could happen in the future. Worrying, stressing and panicking about these things is only going to steal your joy and energy. Sure, worry is an emotion, and you can’t always control how you feel in a certain moment. What you can do is learn to control your anxiety, and remind yourself that will be will be.
You can replace this worry and anxiety with trust. Trust that what’s happening to you right now, in the past or in the future serves a purpose. Everything happens for a reason – whether that’s a good reason, or one that teaches you a lesson. Try and reframe your negative thoughts with those of trust and patience. Shit things happen, and that’s ok. It’s not what we go through, but how we get through them. Hold onto that.
You’ve got this. 2025 is your year to shine—with confident patience leading the way.
