It’s my birthday! I’m finally 21 and it feels like it has been a very long time coming 💫
Today I’m going to go through 21 things that I have learnt over my 21 years on this planet. It’s just something I like to do every year to condense my tips and tricks with the idea that it might help you in some way!
Let’s get into it…
#1 Skinny isn’t everything
#2 The number on the scales doesn’t define you
#3 You don’t and shouldn’t have to change your life path for someone else
#4 Comparison is the thief of joy (I usually talk about this in terms of bodies/appearance, however this last year has taught me to not compare life paths and career choices, as I’ve made some pretty bold ones myself!)
#5 Not going to university doesn’t make you any less worthy
#6 Not everyone is going to like you, and that’s ok
#7 Put yourself before ANYONE ELSE; yes even boyfriends, friends, family…
#8 Step AWAY from the rice cakes, green tea and apple cider vinegar!!
#9 Every feeling is valid; what looks like a bad day to you isn’t comparable to someone else’s
#10 Emotions are supposed to be felt, just let it out!
#11 You don’t need to ‘fit in’ – you are enough exactly who you are
#12 The older you get, the less friends you’ll probably have
#13 Prioritise sleep!!!
#14 Time won’t stand still for you; get out there and make it happen
#15 Work towards making every dream come true: the really small ones, and even the huge ones
#16 Put your phone away when you’re making an important memory. Be present
#17 Do what makes you happy
#18 Say yes to every adventure
#19 Your body will change over the years and that’s perfectly ok, and normal!
#20 Family is everything
#21 Everything happens for a reason
