Happy Sunday everyone! ❤️
I’ve not done a journal entry since the beginning of the month, so here is a big monthly roundup.
What have I learnt this month?
I’ve said numerous times before about the importance of finding balance in every aspect of life. In regards to my life, the aspect of balance I’m focusing on at the moment is the work/social life balance. As I’m no longer a student, it is hard to let go of that party-lover in me – and I’m not ready to give it up yet (heck, I’m only 20 years old!) This month has been focused around social life instead of work, but I have also began full-time work so of course that is my priority regardless of my desire to live out my student life vicariously through my friends.
Every weekend I have had an event or a party to go to and, don’t get me wrong, I love it, but I’ve decided that I need to reel it in: for financial reasons but more importantly for my mental health and well-being.
We all go through chapters of isolation, then partying and socialising, and back and forth, back and forth. Especially being so young still, this is vital. I allowed myself a full-on four weeks but from now on I will really start to prioritise myself and have weekends at home watching my favourite shows and getting ready for the week of work ahead.
THIS MONTH’S HIGHLIGHT: giving into my spontaneity and growing otu of my comfort zone.
NEXT MONTH’S PRIORITY: myself!
ADVICE FOR YOU:
- Do what makes you happy; not what you think should make you happy
- Work on just saying YES to new adventures – you never know who you might end up meeting or where you might end up going in life
- Have a little bit more self-love (and self-respect) for yourself – as you are the only person that you will have for the rest of your life so hold onto that
Last note:
Eating Disorder Awareness Week starts tomorrow so I will be sharing lots on this topic… including that I will be taking part in a mother-daughter fundraiser next weekend. Details below <3
Fundraiser
Story:
I am excited to share that my mum and I are taking part in something very exciting next weekend – a walk for a cause that holds a special place in my heart. We are organising a fundraiser for BEAT UK, a remarkable eating disorder charity that aims to support and empower individuals facing these challenges. This walk is not just a physical journey but a symbolic one, representing the steps we take toward understanding, empathy, and breaking the stigma surrounding eating disorders. Having experienced the struggles of anorexia myself, this cause is deeply personal, and I am passionate about raising awareness and funds to contribute to the incredible work BEAT UK does. Your support will make a real difference in the lives of those affected, fostering a community of understanding and compassion.
Your support will make a real difference in the lives of those affected, fostering a community of understanding and compassion. Every penny helps us move closer to our goal of raising £150 for BEAT UK. Your kindness and generosity are sincerely appreciated as we stride towards a brighter, healthier future for everyone involved.
Disclaimer: It’s important to note that all proceeds from this fundraiser will directly benefit the charity, ensuring that your contributions go towards making a meaningful impact in the fight against eating disorders.
If you are able to (and there’s no pressure) here’s the link to the JustGiving page. Our aim is to raise £150 this week, so every little helps <3
