In this hustle culture, we often put so much pressure on ourselves to keep going, to be productive. Ultimately, this drives us to burn out, and we don’t allow yourself to rest. Today, I’m talking about giving yourself permission to take that break, or do things that you want to do.
You might be thinking “but I’ve got not time to do any of that”. Think again. If you’re totally burnt out at work, tell your boss. If they’re a good boss (which I’m assuming is true), they will help you through it. Book just one day off to allow yourself that rest you need.
Giving yourself permission isn’t just in terms of rest, it’s also about allowing yourself to do new things, to take care of yourself, and to be fully in control of your live. Only you have total power of your life, what you do and how you live it. Allow yourself to do just that, to have a more fulfilling, happier life! Give yourself that permission to start that new hobby, or practice self-care. As soon as you acknowledge that you deserve it all, life becomes much clearer and you gain back that control you’ve been grasping for for so long, possibly without knowing it.
