Can you believe it’s February already?!
Happy Sunday! I hope you are feel refreshed after a good weekend (or a little hungover like me) and you are preparing yourself for a productive week ahead. Today’s post is out a little later today as I’ve been visiting family and not feeling… my best has meant not much screen time today.
This week has been a reset week – no travels to Bath or back to Uni. I’ve had a productive week at work and I’m feeling ready to start my full-time position tomorrow!
Due to this change working 3 days a week to 5 days, I have decided that I need to change my lifestyle alongside this. No more mid-week partying, no more staying up late watching Netflix. I’m going back to my roots by implementing a morning (and eventually) night routine.
I’ve sick and tired of feeling groggy when I wake up, as I hit snooze a dozen times. When you hit snooze, you are basically going into a new sleep cycle, so no wonder we feel even more tired when we eventually do get up. I’m putting my foot down and tomorrow morning I will get up early! It’s one of those things that you just have to do it, and after 26 days (if I remember correctly) it will become a habit, and a good one at that too.
How am I doing this? First of all, remembering why I want to do it: a change in work days means also a change in lifestyle is needed. Plus I’m tired of being tired all the time! Secondly, I’m using a habit tracker (no fancy app, just a pen and paper) and my reminders and calendar app to make sure I am time-blocking and organising my day.
Maybe this is your sign to also start a habit tracker to keep on top of your morning/night routine!
Word of the week: PRODUCTIVE
3 things that made me HAPPY this week:
- Six Nations Rugby is finally back on
- My last week as a part-time intern – completed
- Great session in therapy
INTENTIONS for this week: FOCUS ON WORK, BALANCE SOCIAL AND PRODUCTIVE WORK TIME, IMPLEMENT A GOOD MORN/NIGHT ROUTINE
(The last one may be hard to do as I have a busy week with socials and seeing friends, but you have to start somewhere, right?).
ADVICE FOR YOU:
- Don’t hit snooze!
- Learn the value in nighttime yoga and meditation
- Have you picked up your journal in a while? If not, JOURNAL!
- Do one thing each day that makes you happy, even if it is making your favourite coffee or having your bedtime brew.
Here’s to having a good week!
