This week has been all about getting back into routine. I preach a lot that routine isn’t everything, and that I have found the beauty in spontaneity. However, I thrive off routine as it allows me to be productive and allot time for self-care, hobbies and work.
In therapy this week I had a lot on my mind. The most eye-opening thing we discussed was how I have not been prioritising myself and self-care over the last few months. I have been putting that all off and I’ve been focusing on club nights and socialising. This week I shared a post about finding balance in social life and academic life, but this also applies to social life and alone time through which you can work on yourself (watch out for a post this week on this topic). I have put too much energy into socialising, probably because I’m worried that living at home not amongst students anymore, I’ll become too lonely. Now, I am prioritising myself, because that’s how dreams are made.
On that note, I have been offered a full-time permanent position at my place of work – a huge dream come true! This is why I need to start putting all my efforts into myself and work, to make sure this sticks around and see new opportunities arise.
Word of the past week: SELF-CARE
3 things that made me HAPPY the past week:
– Landing my dream job
– Figuring out who I want to be (and how to make that happen)
– Spending time on my own, rather than being a social butterfly for once
INTENTIONS for this week: PRIORITISE MYSELF, FOCUS ON WORK, AND LEARN HOW TO SCHEDULE IN SOCIAL TIME AS WELL AS SELF-CARE TIME
ADVICE FOR YOU:
– Be present in the moment
– Work towards your dreams and they will come true (with the help of manifestation, watch out for another post on this coming soon)
– You are not defined by your past
– Let go of those things (and people) that no longer serve you
– You are your own best friend, learn to love yourself more than you love anyone else.
Here’s to having a good week!
